The media as the Fourth Estate is a role as an independent and crucial part of the democratic process. As the Fourth Estate, the media becomes a platform for the dissemination of information on current happenings, policies implementation and social issues and events. As a society watchdog, the media investigates on misconducts of power abuse, and corruption and holds those responsible accountable. As a setter for public agenda, the media prioritize certain issues over others and frames stories to influence the minds of the society. The Karangkraf’s ‘Rasuah Busters’ is an initiative by the media in helping to combat corruption in Malaysia. Launched by Karangkraf Media Group, Rasuah Busters focuses specifically on exposing and addressing corruption in Malaysia. Rasuah Busters organises various activities through its collaboration with various entities from non-governmental orgasanisations to private sectors to increase public awareness on corruption. As a movement, its campaign has successfully pressured relevant authorities to make amendments to governing policies involving corruption. Rasuah Busters uses media platforms to educate the public about the impacts of corruption and the importance of integrity. This helps build a more informed and vigilant society that is less tolerant of corrupt practices.
