Abstract: The selection of an airport site necessitates the consideration of several criteria constrained by complex trade-offs. However, each airport is unique in their own development and the impact to the surrounding area. An increase in airport capacity through expansion or construction can improve airport services and revitalize the local economy through the creation of many employment opportunities and significant capital investments. In terms of influencing factors and multicriteria assessment methods, airport literature and practise provide valuable insights. This paper discussed the factors that were considered when deciding where to build a new airport in Kulim, Malaysia.
