The Datai Langkawi was a luxury resort in Malaysia that promoted environment sustainability through four pillars namely Fish for the Future, Pure for the Future, Wildlife for the Future and Youth for the Future. Mr. Johan E Abdullah was the Pillar Leader for Youth for the Future. He was in charge of promoting education programs on sustainability and nature protection awareness aimed at local youth. He found such responsibility challenging as he had to foster an appreciation of nature among youths, the younger generation who was rather different from him. One of the major challenges faced by Mr. Johan E Abdullah was Covid-19 Pandemic that requires them to place physical activities related to Eco-School program on hold. Kedah Eco-School Program was gazetted on 10th November 2019, but officiated on 4th May 2021 at The Datai. Furthermore, the responsibility to implement environmental and sustainability practices was a significant challenge for Mr. Johan E Abdullah as it requires collaborative effort. This case study will allow the students who are also the youths to evaluate the current environmental and sustainability practices. In addition, it gives the students a chance to examine the extent of The Datai’s initiative to enhance awareness among the youths and it captures the students’ view, feedback and recommendations regarding the initiativesen_US
